CHEN,Jing

Chen Jing started learning classical piano from the age of 4. Under the tutelage of Ms. Winnie Tay, her passion for the instrument and classical music only grew stronger. She has won several awards, both local and international, since embarking on this musical journey. Chen Jing was the youngest Singaporean pianist to win the First Prize at the 2015 Grand Virtuoso International Music Competition in Paris. In 2016, she clinched the First Prize in the Junior Category of UCSI International Piano Competition. In 2017, she was given the opportunity to perform at the Carnegie Hall for her First Prize at the prestigious Bradshaw and Buono International Piano Competition. Last June, she was awarded 2 Platinum Awards and 1 Gold Award at the 2018 Singapore Performers’ Festival & Chamber Music Competition. Most recently, she won the First Prize at the Singapore Arts Festival 2019, First Prize at the Singapore Raffles Cultural & Arts Festival 2019, as well as Second Prize at the 3rd International Piano Island Festival Competition. As a young musician, Chen Jing strongly believes in sharing her music with those around her, including the less privileged. She was selected as one of the two solo pianists to participate in ChildAid 2016 – a charity concert that seeks to raise funds for children from underprivileged backgrounds. Together with two other friends, Chen Jing participated in the concert Moving Hands, Overflowing Hearts, which sought to raise funds for the Business Times Budding Artists Fund. In her pastime, she enjoys listening to classical music, with her favorite composer being Chopin. Chen Jing is most thankful to Ms. Winnie and her parents for giving her many opportunities to pursue music and refine her craft. She is inspired to work hard and bring good music to others.
