Mohan Jia, the Chinese young pianist, was born in Beijing in 2007, has studied piano from 6 years old with famous pianist and educator Professor Manchun Chen who is the Principal of Central Conservatory of Music Middle School. At 9, she was enrolled in Grade 4 at the school with the highest score. In addition, she has received instructions from international famous pianists and professors who rated highly on her performance and potential.
In recent years, she performed in national and international famous halls, such as National Centre for The Performing Arts, Luoyang Poly Art Center, Steinway & Sons Center Horowitz Hall, Hebei Art Center, Kunming Theatre, Xiamen Music Island Philharmonic Hall, China Central TV, Trudi Zipper Concert Hall in Los Angeles, and Smith Concert Hall in San Diego. In 2019, she was invited to perform at Chan Centre for the Performing Arts in Vancouver and Carnegie Hall in New York. She has performed with Xiamen Philharmonic Orchestra,working with conductor Renchang Fu.
Her competition awards include First Prize & Best Chinese Work Prize in 2014 Xinghai Cup National Music Competition. First Prize in 2014 International Art Education Federation National Youth Piano Competition. Gold Award in 2015 Beijing International Piano Festival. Third Prize in 2015 Steinway National Piano Competition. First Prize in 2016 Southern Chopin International Piano Competition. Third Prize in 2018 Hanoi International Piano Competition. First Prize in 2018 Lansum International Music Festival Piano Competition. First Prize in 2018 Bravo! International Music Competition. First Prize in 2019 Pacific Rim International Music Festival Piano Competition. Third Prize & Commission Work Prize in 2021 Singapore International Piano Competition (Junior), etc.
