Liping Li is the director of the Department of Keyboard and Orchestral Music and supervisor of postgraduates in the School of Arts at Lanzhou University. She is a member of the 9th CPPCC committee in Chengguan district of Lanzhou. She graduated from the Belarusian State Academy of Music and received Dual Master’s Degree in piano performance and chamber music performance. She is an examiner at the CCMGEC(China Conservatory of Music Grading Examination Committee) examinations, juror of the Gansu Province Musicians Association Grading Examination, council member of the Gansu Province Young Musicians Association, council member of the Gansu Province Pianist Association and juror of major piano competitions in Gansu Province. She is the winner of first prizes in numerous piano competitions and she has guided students to participate and win awards in various national and provincial competitions, whereby she won the title of Excellent Instructor multiple times. Ms. Li is also devoted to research and has published several papers on academic journals
